Profit Yacht | Financial Plan

To analyse what is actually happening in the Charter business on a day-to-day basis, we use the Financial Plan. The Financial Plan represents the actual execution of the business, comparing real revenue and expenses against the forecasts established in the Business Plan.

Is your charter performance what you expected?

As a Charter Manager, at the beginning of the season, you plan with your yacht owners how many rentals you expect to achieve and what profitability you aim to generate.

This is your Business Plan — and with Profit Yacht, you can load it and review it through the Yacht Rental Program.

But once the season starts and your team is operating at 150%, focused on managing the day-to-day, finding the time to review the plan and provide answers to your Catamaran owners can seem almost impossible. And then comes the question no Charter Manager wants to hear in August : “How are my rentals performing?”

With Profit Yacht, this becomes much easier. The Yacht Rental Program tells you what you planned to achieve for each Catamaran per season. Then, the Financial Plan brings together your actual bookings and operating expenses and compares them with the forecast defined in the Yacht Rental Program. So instead of guessing how the season is going, you can see it, measure it and explain it.

The Financial Plan can be viewed by month, with daily details, or by week, which is ideal for the summer season.

In both views, the Charter Manager can check, at a glance:
How many rentals and how much income each boat has generated each day.
How many expenses have been associated with each activity or rental.
How much income was expected for each boat on that day.
What profit margin (%) has been generated for each rental.T

hese daily KPIs become even more relevant when aggregated by week. A weekly view helps you understand whether you are reaching your revenue targets, overperforming, or falling short of your sales goals. It also allows you to identify whether expenses are eating into your profit and whether your actual revenue is enough to achieve the Business Plan you agreed with the owner.

The Financial Plan is therefore the ultimate tool for getting a detailed and up-to-date view of how your charter business is performing — even in real time.

But the reason we created Financial Plan goes beyond simply monitoring current performance. In a second phase of development, Profit Yacht will incorporate RMS (Revenue Management System) tools to help maximise revenue from the days that have not yet been booked.

The RMS will also support your charter team in areas such as reducing unnecessary expenses, dynamic pricing, cash flow alerts, automated private-use change requests, and detailed price breakdown reports for owners.

Financial Plan vs. Yacht Rental Program

It is important to remember that the Financial Plan is a performance reporting tool that shows how your catamaran or fleet is performing on a daily or weekly basis, while the Yacht Rental Program is a seasonal planning and forecasting tool. In other words:

Financial Plan = What is actually happening?
Yacht Rental Program = What did we expect to achieve?

Together, these tools give yacht owners and Charter Companies a complete view of the business — from the initial seasonal forecast to actual financial performance.
